PR for threat research and security reports

Translate findings into accurate stories, briefings and disclosure plans.

The problem

Researchers can document a serious finding and still lose the story to jargon, unclear impact or poor timing. I help turn the report into a credible explanation reporters and users can follow.

What I do

  • Threat research and report launches
  • Researcher and spokesperson preparation
  • Disclosure and embargo planning
  • Security and business media outreach

Relevant experience

The Resecurity October 2026 engagement produced 40 stories in five days, with 32 naming Resecurity. Source

Relevant experience includes Cybersecurity Ventures, Trend Micro and Microsoft Security Intelligence Report work. Source

How an engagement works

I work with researchers and security teams to identify the finding, impact, evidence, disclosure boundaries and useful next steps. I prepare the report story, briefing materials, FAQ and media plan, then coordinate outreach around the approved release timing.

The first 30 days

  1. Review the research, evidence, affected audiences, disclosure boundaries and approval path.
  2. Build the report narrative, message points, FAQ and researcher briefing.
  3. Prepare embargoes, targeted outreach and a follow-up plan for questions and corrections.

Questions

Can you work with researchers before the report is final?

Yes. Early involvement helps separate confirmed findings from open questions and creates a usable narrative before publication.

Do you manage disclosure decisions?

I help communicate the agreed plan. Security, legal and research owners remain responsible for disclosure decisions.

Which reports can you support?

I can support threat research, vulnerability reports and security intelligence with a clear audience, evidence and release plan.

Do you guarantee coverage?

No. I build a relevant story and pursue appropriate conversations without promising an editorial outcome.
